I’m sure that I saw G AMPY take her first leap into the air yesterday evening – bit of a split a***d circuit though (normally the finals turn is the otherside of the house!).
Be great if it was – makes all of those hypothermic winter days spent on her worthwhile!

The next project I’ll be involved with is SV – Just the small matter of work getting in the way (not to mention all those jobs at home that got missed while working on PY)!

. I noticed she now has ‘Royal Air Force Transport Command’ titles as it was being towed past Ops earlier in the day.

Which I and one of the engineers put on this afternoon! :p
and doesn’t she look smart!
Well done to everybody involved in her transformation . 😀

That would have been G-ANAF circuit bashing John. When i left they were trying to find an F/O for PY so it may not have happened in the end. I noticed she now has ‘Royal Air Force Transport Command’ titles as it was being towed past Ops earlier in the day.

G-ANAF has just flown over. Did someone put in a special request for me? 🙂

Not backwards!!!!!!!!! 😉

Glad she’s flown, especially considering the effort that was put in getting her there!
Will, I heard the engines and dashed outside so I only caught the final turn. So she goes left, right, up, down and forwards – result!

(normally the finals turn is the otherside of the house!).

…true, but finals rarely involve a full figure of eight turn, I guess they had to check ‘PY would turn in both directions 😉

The (think it was) BBMF Dak came low overhead Southam early Saturday morning which reminded me you don’t see much of the Atlantique Daks about these parts. Good to hear then that AMPY is flying again.
I’m currently flying with an AFT come Dak pilot in my taildragger (AS) 😎

Absolutely right John, she was doing a brief shakedown flight yesterday afternoon, and should be up again this afternoon as well 🙂
Apparently flying fine so far!
