Two DC-3’s flew over Biggin Hill and landed about 30 minutes ago.
Any idea whose they were and where they’re going?
Air Atlantique?

They were chartered for a PR event for a WWII computer game called Company of Heroes (based on the D Day landings). They flew out on (I think the tuesday) and came back on the friday. On the way back they flew in a very tight formation with a spitfire (in between the 2 Dak’s). My mate writes for PC Gamer and was on one of Dakotas, whilst not really an enthusiast he seemed pretty impressed. He had a couple of fairly impressive pictures which I must pester him for.
Reported cost £90,000.

Missed them last night, but I saw them the morning before – making a hell of a racket 😀

Case closed then. Well investigated everyone. It was a great sight to see them both fly low (not too low) over the valley then make a steep turn in to land. I was on the phone to my girlfriend at the time and told her to hold on.
“You don’t see two Dakotas flying in formation everyday.”
“Two what?”
“Two Dakotas. Planes!”
“Oh…”
“Haven’t you ever seen A Bridge Too Far? No, of course you haven’t…”

Either there are Dakotas flying everywhere tonight or they are the same 2 that flew over Hawkinge this evening with 1 spitfire

I have a feeling they were chartered for a Normandy Trip, a journalist I have had dealings with was on a trip from Biggin to Normandy this week.

Well they’ve both just taken off again. Both were from Air Atlantique.
