Dame Pat Evison (1924-2010)

Dame Pat Evison, the larger than life New Zealand actress, has passed away, according to Radio New Zealand News.

She became a household name in New Zealand for her roles in Pukemanu and the soap Close To Home, and gained some international acclaim for the film The Silent One, then she concentrated her work over the other side of the Tasman and starred in such TV classics as A Town Like Alice and The Flying Doctors, as Violet Carnegie. She also appeared in the excellent kiwi film Bad Blood.
