why do many parents insist on fitting their child rear safety seats behind the drivers position ?and have to put their precious cargo into them with traffic passing at varying speeds inches away from the open door, its just plain stupid

I think one supermarket has started issuing fines to people who do that – not sure which one.

Why worry, if these morons are raising kids that will be no doubt brought up to be as ignorant and stupid as themselves, let them get on with it and suffer the consequences, we’ll all be better off in the long run if they are taken out by a Redimix lorry, my only concerns are for their innocent dogs and the poor sod in the Redimix lorry who will feel forever guilty even if it isn’t his fault.
On a slightly different note, I had a good one the other day. We have a problem with parking in our local Sainsburies, it’s used as a town car park and has a limited number of family and disabled spaces. Quite frankly people are pretty good about where they park, but there’s always some dickhead isn’t there.
It was evening, there were loads of spaces in the main area, right up to the store entrance too. What does this woman in her empty 4×4 beast do, park in the remaining family parking zone next to the entrance.
I said to her, ‘It must be nice to come out without the kids for a change’ She laughed and said yes, so I said, ‘So why are you parking in the family area then, I bet you wouldn’t like it if you had a car full of kids and had no where to go’.
At which point this very posh wealthy bitch let of a stream of foul mouthed invective, quite uncalled for I thought and so I very nicely threatened to inform the store security guards and parking attendants, at which point I suspect that had she got a weapon of any kind, she would have used it on me. She promptly told me to F off and walked into town, had I been able to undo her petrol cap I would have been quite satisfied to p##s in it. Arrogant, selfish cow, how do you deal with such self opinionated people who think they know best, mind you, there’s a few of them on this forum, oops sorry.

These people infuriate me too !! 😡 The other day we were walking through our village with our two prams when I see a woman driving a car with two kids in it. Nothing wrong there. However at the time she was on her mobile phone and not only that she had a dog sat on her lap ???? Do these people have no sense at all ? You would think that when it comes to your childs welfare you do everything to minimise the risk not increase it. These people are just dumb selfish idiots and lots of other words I can’t use too ! 🙁

I’m a very BIG on pushing people (parents) to do the right thing when it comes to seats and seatbelts………….
My appartment overlooks a kindergarten and I work at a school, I have seen the following……..
Two cars pull up outside my block (together) with women in the front seat HOLDING babies (they were both from eastern european countries).
Five or six times people takeing their kindergarten aged kids from/or putting then into the back seat where they were either just sitting without any belt or kids seat.
I have lost count how many times I have seen kids climbing around on the back seat of the moveing car they are in.
Just on friday outside my school I saw a couple from africa with two kids in the back seat, the baby was in a correct baby seat, the little three year old was sitting without seat belt or anything.
I thought I’d wait for them to start driveing off and see if they even bother to put the (adult) seatbelt on their boy…….. no!
I walked quickly to them and stopped them, gave them a (nicely put) ear full.
The father/driver said they were just going down the street, of course I told him how he could have his kid killed in a crash 50 meters up the street.
I told them about how they might feel if their boy WAS killed after I had spoken to them and told them exactly where they can buy a seat for him, but he just grinned and thanked me!
Some people should NEVER have kids!
cheers,
-John

…And why most of them need to be driven to school is beyond me.
Don’t get me started. Also in Long Eaton, I used to be driving down Nottingham Road at around 0745, and this silly c0w driving one of those people carriers would emerge from Carrfield Avenue, and drive down to the bus stop at Harlaxton Drive to drop-off her solitary child. About 250 yards or so.
Yet parents still insist on driving their offspring the half a mile to school – probably due to some misguided media fuelled stranger danger fear!
And the Government wonders why (A). There are so many cars on the roads, and (B). Why so many kids are obese.
The media has a lot to answer for, IMO…
Rant over. For now.

Just stand outside the average primary school when the school run is in full flow at 8.30 in the morning or whenever.
Any semblance of common sense they ever had deserts mothers with kids in tow.
And why most of them need to be driven to school is beyond me. Just been doing some risk comparisons for work and found that for the 0 – 12 age group the highest risk of death is from road traffic accidents. Yet parents still insist on driving their offspring the half a mile to school – probably due to some misguided media fuelled stranger danger fear!

I thought nothing could surprise me regarding idiots on the road, until this happened a couple of days ago…
I was driving my (preserved) bus through Long Eaton’s Market Place, following a long line of traffic, mainly cars. Up ahead, I noticed a young mother with 4 kids, trying to cross the road. Two of them were in one of those double pushchair-type things .
She must have lost patience, as then she did no more than shove the pushchair, complete with kids into the road in an attempt to ‘bully’ traffic into letting her cross. She succeeded with the second car in front of me…
The driver had to brake – hard. How the driver of the following car avoided hitting the first car (or the driver of the first car avoided hitting that silly b1tch), I’ll never know…
Guess whose fault it would have been if that car had’ve hit the pushchair…:mad::mad:
