Danish Merlin Mk512 sensor fit.

I have just been reading this months AFM and in the news section it talks about how the UK MoD may take over the danish troop transport Merlins. Looking at the picture of them they appear to have a radome at the nose with what seems to be a sensor ball underneith it, which is not present on any other Merlin Variant that I have seen. Could anybody enlighten me as to what equipment these helicopters have?

Edit. After furth inspection, it appears that the sensor ball is indeed present on the UK HC-3’s (I would still like to know what it is though?) but the radome most certainly is not?

Furthermore, have any Merlin variants been fitted with the Thales topdeck avionics suite, which is now reportely being installed on the 8 stored RAF Chinook HC-3’s.
