David Bellamy shunned by BBC.

Words fail me.

I have been wondering what had happened to a very likeable presenter.

Not only is he a great and likeable science presenter, he’s also correct.

The Daily Depress must be short of news, ‘The Great Bearded One’ made a statement about this years ago, hadn’t they noticed that he hasn’t been on the telly for ten years.
I tried to contact DB a few years ago over a local conservation issue and there were all sorts of comments about this on the net, I seem to recall that he even did a big article about it for either the Guardian or the Observer, perhaps the use of English in that article was too complicated for the Express editor to understand and it’s taken them all this time to work it out, maybe tomorrow they’ll be telling us that Queen Victoria is dead.

So if the BBC is a public service why have they made the decision to shun him with out asking the licence payers.

I totally agree with you. The high-handed attitude of the BBC is outrageous – I have been a licence-payer for more than twenty years and they have never consulted me once!

I suspect all that’s happened here is that Mr Bellamy has fallen victim to the BBC’s current fascination with chefs, property speculators and dancing celebrity has-beens on ice…

Very like able man,and a dam fine presenter and teacher, he made botany actually interesting to us physics students. So if the BBC is a public service why have they made the decision to shun him with out asking the licence payers.

Speaking personally, I wouldn’t regard an item in the Daily Express as proof of anything.

This is, after all, the “newspaper” that brought us the ‘Great Diana Murder Conspiracy’ (every Monday morning without fail!) and ended up paying out costs and substantial damages after libelling the parents of Madelaine McCann.

Still, you pays your money and you takes your choice. 🙂
