Dawlish airshow

I’m planning on being down in Devon during the weekend when the Dawlish airshow is on, and would be grateful for any advice on the best place to be standing during the airshow to get the most dramatic shots. I’ll be travelling down there on train from Exeter and never been there before, so any help would be much appreciated.
I just hope the gorgeous weather continues for another month…

Just a heads up for next Saturday 22nd August that its Dawlish air show, not a bad little line up for a “free” (donations can be given on the day or by buying a program.) job….

RAF Typhoon
RAF BBMF
RAF Red Arrows
RAF Hawk T2 role demo
Rich Goodwin-Muscle Biplane
Royal Navy Black Cats
Team Raven
Bae Strikemaster
Supermarine Seafire
DH Sea Vixen

And finally depending on further donations the Avro Vulcan…….

Always a good show in a nice little village, looking forward to watching it from the comfort of my mum’s back garden!

Try getting to an elevated position looking down along the sea front from the cliff. When you leave Dawlish Station walk along the sea wall towards the first tunnel your departing train will enter. That’s the cliff. There is a path leading up the side and I think it goes all the way to the top but about half way up is the best spot where all those well known railway pictures were taken from.
