yea..sorry..mistake. Its not Kai Tak, its CLK and both are MD 11s.

Yeh, Seen that one. I wont look at it in the same way now….I didnt know people had died. Isn’t it an MD-11? Do Mandarin have any DC10s?

Kabir, that’s a really funny story. As far as the picture goes, that doesn’t look like Kai Tak? When did this event happen? Reminds me of a FedEX MD11 the wound up upside down and crashed in Newark around 96. Everybody survived that one, however. All 3 or 4 of them that were on board!

That’s dreadful,
I am quite shocked that flights are still continuing as normal around the wreckage and that the DC-10 hasn’t been cornered off to prevent prying eyes or photographers!

well its funny in a way…sorry for the killed. This was Kai Tak….not many accidents happened there, but those crosswinds gave dramatic shots. Another thing like this happened. SAS was awarded best airline some years back and after 2 days one of there MD 80s belly landed at Oslo. A KLM B737 was passing buy and this was the captains comment: “And ladies and gentlemen as we taxi to the runway you can see the beauty of Norway on the left and on the right you can see the airline of the year” 🙂

I’m not so sure it was quite as funny for the 3 pax that died in the crash, but it’s amazing what windshear can do to a big plane…
