DC-10s at Southend?

Would anyone know of any DC-10 aircraft that were scrapped or broken at Southend, Essex?
Or nearby, perhaps Manston?

Any info appreciated.

Certainly remember seeing a DC-10 being broken up at Kemble, may have been 2009?

An RAF Tristar was also scrapped there, believe that was done last year.

Hi, thanks for the tip off. I’m guessing the amount of DC-10’s scrapped in the UK is in single figures so any help is appreciated!

Hi Rob,
Try Kemble. I was involved with the scrapping of a DC10-10 there a few years ago, so might be still be some bits lying around. Pity you were not after parts then, could have supplied a complete cockpit.

A little reminder for me of when I flew on an AirTransat L-1011 from Stansted to Toronto.

If it was late 80s, I might have been your dispatcher! Not likely though – I was mainly on AirUK puddlejumpers! Think we had Wardair to Toronto as well.
