DC-3 Restoration Working Bee At Moorabbin Air Museum

Hi Everyone

Thought this may be of interest to a few out there http://www.warbirdz.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2213 – I added the link so as not to overload the post with pictures – there are quite a few (sorry mods if this is not on, just trying to be practical)

The museum is in Moorabbin, Victoria, Australia. Quite a number of aircraft indoors and out, my personal favourite (of course) is the Beaufighter.

This working bee was not organised by the museum but by a group of enthusiastic people (me included) headed up by restorer / part maker Ash Briggs, all who wanted to help make a difference. It was a great day and some good progress was made, however there is still a long way to go as the pics show. When an aircaft like this is left outside for years, and is close to the bay area, the results are almost inevitable 🙁 Thankfully having a few aircraft engineers helping on the day made some decisions a lot easier. And the museum chairman turned up and generously provided a BBQ for us all, much appreciated !
