A DC-4, in full USAF markings, has left Arizona this weekend for an Atlantic crossing. The aircraft will be temporarily based in England (I was told at Duxford) for film duties, as it will act in a movie on the Berlin Airbridge. How long it will remain in Europe is unknown, as is its arrival date. If everything goes according plan however, an eta this week is well possible

RE: DC-4 has left for the UK
It is not only the DC-4, several Dakota’s are also playing a role, so keep an eye on those too. To update FlyPast, at the time of this information ‘came out’ , Duxford was mentioned, but now North Weald is also named. Apart from this, if everything goes according plan, the Constellation starts for its journey tomorrow morning, with an eta late saturday in Holland, so prepare for a stopover, or a flypast in/over the UK!

RE: DC-4 has left for the UK
Flypast has a picture of it stateside (lovely) and confirms that its destination is probably Duxford, primarily for film work. By all accounts should be around for the September display.
