Hi Guys,
Im after some help, as you know i have been restoring de Havilland Vampire T11 XD425 over the last year and she is now almost finished however as a finishing touch i would like to put onto the back of the “POD” all the squadron crests from all the bases she was based at in service as a memorial
Can anyone supply me with JPEG’s of the squadron crests or a link to where i could download them.
The squadron crests i need are:
No.48 MU Hawarden
7 FTS Valley
5 FTS Oakington
8 FTS Swinderby
Im also after any photos of the aircraft or POD if there are any out there?
And as a last request i would like to add some spitfire replica instruments to my Spitfire Sim does anyone know where is can get some? im thinking along the lines of oil pressure gauges and U/C lights etc…
Any help is most welcome.
Can i also urge as many of us as possible to join the “European Federation Historic Aviation” http://www.efha.eu its free and can only help us all in the long run.
Cheers
Neil

You’ve certainly made a lovely job of it.

OK, time to come clean I think….. 😮
Yes… Neil is indeed having a full sized replica Spitfire built as we speak, and I’m involved too… 🙂
Rather than repeat a load of information on here, please have a look at our website so you can find out more on the latest exciting venture which he’s roped me in to help with…

What a change – the before/after shots show the great job you have down, all on the drive and in the garage!
The spitfire sim looking good as well … Full size spitfire next, you must be moving!
Neil,
Your son must be the envy of all his friends!

de Havilland Vampire T11 XD425
Just bumping up this thread – surprising that Neil (the owner of XD425) hasn’t done this already – to note that the cockpit of XD425 has now made the local news today on ITV Tyne Tees & Border. It certainly looks a lot better than it did a year or two ago!

Now…what’s all this about building a full size static replica Spitfire?
