de Havillland D.H.51 G-EBIR

G’ day again all 😀 ,

This aircraft was said to be the oldest airworthy de Havilland in existance, in the early 1980’s.

I know it was with The Shuttleworth, doe’s it still fly now day’s  .

I wonder if anymore of the other earler D.H. type’s, will be resurected ever again, anything doe’s seem possible in the 21st Century(Hey where’s Buck! )

She doe’s look nice back in the 80’s, has anyone got any updated picture’s of her they would like to share with the World.

Thank’s if anyone can help with above request’s 😉

Thank’s all 😀 ,

I did see and read somewhere about the Hummer but I thought it was still in bit’s but that’s way cool it is not, Is that all that remain’s of the hummer design, any other static job’s or bit’s??

😮 And yes please RP mate keep trying please!!!! 😉

For such a basic Aircraft, I just don’t know what attrack’s me too her so much  .

Suppose the same goe’s for ” THE Jason ” 😎 not much of it but still nice somehow, DH aircraft seem to attrack people like flie’s.

I had a dream after reading a few Amy book’s, that they got her down restored her and flew her again 😎 .

BUT for the sake of honoring the Lady’s memory, she must stay were she is of course :dev2: .

Would love to have her out here in Oz, AGAIN! 😀

Wot do ya reckon you would wanna swap it for someting HERE!!!

Shall we do yet another ” Jason thread ”

She was out on static display in the “flight line” at the display on August 5th and I took several pics.

I have tried to post one but the file size is to big and haven’t had time to work out how to reduce

Dunno if it’ll be at Legends but here it is (was?) at Hatfield on 7 July 1973.

DOH!!!

Done Janie mate 😉 , Sorry HOT and long day that day, brain was grinding to a stop!

Great stuff all, luv all the picture’s and info 😀 .

Will be a damn shame if they can not keep her in the air 🙁 ., but the Pom’s seem pretty good at these sort of task’s, (for some reason  ) so I now expect the unexpected with ALL type’s of long gone or well past it aircraft., Gentlemen we can rebuild her………

Yes I have seen that aircraft being built in N.Z. MAGIC really, even a real donk 😮 .

I have just of late read up on all the different thing’s that type did in Oz, and over seas with our oz lad’s, not much to them really, REAL seat of the pant’s stuff, and to do what them did with them, really was amazing 😎 .

Ah G’ day MAX too, I hope your well, and still busy with interesting project’s mate! 🙂

Thank’s all again

Ciao for now, but roll on if anyone has anymore goss 😎

And while we’re on the spellcheck, it’s “hangar” not “hanger”, Ollie and most of the rest of the posters.

The Spring 2006 edition of prop swing (Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society news letter) states the DH51’s current status as airworthy.

Edit Summer 2006 edition says some internal corrosion has been found in steel tailplane struts and centre section struts. New material is being sourced to make replacement parts.

I had a quick look through the recent archive to no avail, but I did come up with these!

1928 DH60X — Hermes Moth
1928 DH60G — Gipsy Moth
1929 Parnell Elf
DH82a — Tiger Moth
Chipmunk

Hope you like them.
