Well, for those of you who remember the thread on Dean Fradley’s letter to the local newspaper, here is the Spitfire that will be winging its way to him via his school today. Thank you to all of you who contributed.
If you would like to add a personal message to Dean, please do so below.

Has this arrived in one piece?

Yep, looks like the Tamiya kit, which imho is the best Spitfire kit made in any scale (so far). I made that same kit once as Johnny Houlton’s Mk V, OU-L, with his pink elephant artwork on it. I had planned to also build his Mk IX, ML407, but haven’t quite gotten round to it yet.
What squadron is SN-M from?

It has four Fragile / bregus gofal stickers on it.
My mate made it – the guy who’s models I snapped and posted a couple of weeks back. As it was one already done, he only charged for the kit – no time / paint / photo or resin charge (I guess it stood him around £40 when he did it). It’s 1:48. Tamiya or Hasegawa I think.

Good on ya, lads….he’ll be thrilled….be sure to mark the box ‘extremely fragile’ so’s they don’t shake it up too much.

Wow!
This is amazing. All I did was quote a newspaper and the kid will get one of the most fabulously stunning surprises of his life!
Snapper: Please do report back on the response. Maybe you should send a letter to the newspaper as well. That would give warbirds some welcome positive publicity.
(Thanks for your PM too).

A great model. I am sure young Dean will be very thrilled by it, and hopefully the impact he has created by writing his letter will not only stay with him in his memory for many years to come, but also brush off onto his school mates.
Did anythign come of the suggestion of a visitfor him to a real Spitfire? Or to meet some real Spit veterans?

I’m very sorry – I completely forgot to contribute and I only live 16 miles from you!
As far as young Dean is concerned, I sincerely hope that he likes it and gets great pleasure and enjoyment from it. His parents should be justifiably proud of a fine young man.

Well done Snapper. Is that your own work? Lovely model. What scale?
Sure young Dean will like it! 🙂
