As our small celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, Wolverhampton’s Tettenhall Transport Heritage Centre is having a Defiant Day on Sunday 20th September. We are unveiling our new Boulton Paul Defiant display, featuring our cockpit project, and are raffling a unique framed photograph of a Defiant on flight test from nearby Pendeford, signed by five former Battle of Britain Defiant aircrew, 264 sqd pilots, Eric Barwell and John Lauder, gunners Fred Barker and Fred Gash, and 256 sqd pilot, Wolverhampton-born Christopher Deanesly (Spitfire pilot during the Battle). Entry is free, as usual

Tickets are £1 each and cheques should be made payable to the Tettenhall Transport Heritage Centre. We will have 5 cockpits open on the day, apart from the ‘walk-in’ Balliol, and the adjacent Cupcake Lane Cafe is celebrating their First Anniversary, and have baked several hundred cakes. Reason enough to visit by itself !

Anyone can apply for tickets by post, though we can only accept, cheques or cash. The draw will not be made until a week after Sunday 27th. Address TTHC, 35 Blakeley Ave, Wolves. WV6 9HR,

Many thanks for the post nice to see that in this 75th anniversary year the Defiant is not to be to over shadowed by her Spitfire and Hurricane stable mates, can anybody acquire the raffle tickets and if so are there any contact details you can supply please ? :eagerness:

It`s a shame that it`s too far for me to come, I would have really liked to see the Defiant display as I am particularly interested in this aeroplane, I have quite a lot of Boulton Paul and Defiant related items. Could you post some pictures of the event ?
