The LBA BY diverted due to a problem with the slats/flaps, needed a longer runway than LBA to land safely. Think it went to MAN, not sure.

Massive delays into Manchester too yesterday.

I think a Cancun flight was around a day late?

Thanks mate 🙂

Have now read it was a 763 operating that flight, in the shape of G-OBYG.

Also read that the reason the 762 diverted was a problem with the slats, which meaned it needed to land at a higher speed, thus needing a longer runway.

More delays today

OK, it was a LAMIX 1 W departure. Which means turning left after 0.5 miles, which is more or less straight away. 😉

That is why it would be low, very low! 😀

I dont particularly live at either end lol, cant really answer what runway they are coming in or out of.

All I will say is, ive never seen something like a 762 that low after departure over my house, as you say, it doesn’t have the longest of runways, but we have flights to TFS,DLM,CFU,ZTH with it, so it does do a few longer flights.

I imagine it was a full thrust take off, I could hardly hear my TV for it!

Thought it was the Ryanair 732, realised it didnt come in for another 2 hours ;).

I heard a very loud noise about 20:45, and looked out of my window and saw the Thomsonfly 767 over my house lower than just about anything I have ever seen over my house, we normally get nothing over my house, especially on take off, seemed to take a very strange path after take off.

LBA doesn’t have the biggest of runways, full pax load going to Dalaman (perhaps full thrust take-off). Do you live over the 32 or 14 end Tom?

The Leeds-Bradford – Dalaman eventually left LBA around 3 hours late, still seen no explanation for the earlier diversion.

GLA-LPL will be dropped at the end of summer. One less service to compete with…

Didn’t realise that. Weird that flybe. started GLA-LPL-GLA as 1x daily then moved it to 2x daily and now have dropped the route altogether. Pleased I flew on it while I could then! 😉

Punctuality for week ending 1st July – 63% on time!
At Flybe the priority of flying our passengers on time is second only to our responsibilities towards safety. Please see our latest punctuality statistics:

71% of Flybe flights arrived on time
92% of flights arrived within 60 minutes of scheduled arrival time

A flight on time is defined as one arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. These statistics are based on all Flybe flights between 27th June and 1st July 2005 inclusive.

Not good at all considering the amount of flights they operate compared with the likes of easyJet & Ryanair.

bmi regional’s MAN-GLA-MAN service is rarely full. Intensive competiton from flybe’s twice daily service from Liverpool and British Airways 4/5 daily flights from Manchester.

Flex 35

GLA? Sorry, the flights I posted were EDI arrivals, should have said that…
and as you mentioned it, GLA-LPL will be dropped at the end of summer. One less service to compete with…

They have an obligation to operate them if pax are booked dont they?

I’d say, and even if one was cancelled, two flights could be combined, not both cancelled! You’re flight with 15 pax wasn’t cancelled, and I can’t imagine loads get much lower, especially on a weekday evening with biz passengers too. Going by the announcements in the airport, the flights are full quite often, and look at all the faces in the window there: 😉

So whatever the reason, I doubt it’s passenger numbers, however low…

18:00 BD387 MANCHESTER CANCELLED
20:55 BD389 MANCHESTER CANCELLED

I know for a fact they will be cancelled because of low pax. I travelled on BD389 last month and there only was 15 pax!

BE173 SOUTHAMPTON 1415 LANDED 17:28
BD406 EDINBURGH 1700 CANCELLED

The SOU-LBA route seems to be very unreliable since introduction, no idea why.

It’s operated by Flybe, that’s why. 😉 They’re very all over the place with their punctuality. More often than not suffering more delays more frequently than other airlines…
Not sure what bmir’s problem is today.

Anyone any idea what happened to this flight at LBA….

BY148B ZAKYNTHOS 1530 FLIGHT DIVERTED Coaches expected 2030

I know Thomson like to divert to MAN at the 1st opportunity, but there seems to be no real reason to do so today, unless it needed some serious maintenance on arrival?
This evenings outbound to Dalaman appears to be running around 2 and a half hours late, not that bad considering the diversion, must have got something into LBA pretty quickly.

The weather appears fine, not the best day at LBA once again though…

Who predicted the TCX Hydrualic Failure?

Me of course! I can predict the future, and when it landed I knew exactly what to do with it :D.

Do we need all the different threads about delays?

Couldn’t agree more with you Tom. Unless you are on that perticular flight that is delayed who cares?
