Can someone help me please? I’m approaching my permitted capacity for attachments – almost exclusively thumbnail images – and I don’t know how (if it’s possible) I delete these, either selectively or wholesale. I’ve checked the FAQs and searched against ‘deleting attachments’ but both drew a blank. Any ideas, anyone?

Yes please I think a lot of us would appreciate it.

If you want I’ll have a word with the webmaster and see what space is allocated, then see if we can get a small increase or something?

The forum attachments feature is fine if you want to quickly post up a lower rez image from your drive.
I’d overlooked that point, pagen, when I made my earlier comment. If I factor in the time that it takes to reduce the size of the image so that it qualifies for uploading as a thumbnail, it’s probably no quicker than uploading the full resolution image to flickr and then grabbing and pasting it here!

Flickr is far better quality than photobucket, I’ve only just started using it (in the Hunter thread in Historic) and it is great how well the pictures are reproduced – however I find that it is a lot more fiddly to use the copy and paste feature, especially from a big album.

Is photobucket better ? I doubt it 😀
but generally speaking works ok (sometimes a little slow !) and one becomes familiar with its foibles 🙂
I have not used an attachment for quite a while

Thank you, Pagen. I agree with you, baz, but sometimes I’m too lazy, or don’t have the time, to upload the images to the hosting site and then grab and paste the code on here. I’ve used flickr so far. Is photobucket better and, if so, how?

Thats why many of us use photobucket etc…there is no limit on posting and the images are automatically sized.
One usually gets a reasonable sized image as long as the original is reasonable quality.

Hi Pagen, one of mine too. Thanks for explaining how to sort it.

Hi AA, click on your ‘User CP’ at top left of your page, and then you will be presented with a drop down menu at left hand side, at the very bottom of this in miscellaneous box is ‘attachments’, click on that and it will take you into your attachments box where you can select files you wish to delete.
The restricted attachments allowance on the forum is one of my biggest gripes here!
