Delta Aviation into administration

Hi All,

Just thought I’d share the news that according to their website, Delta Aviation who operate flying experiences nationwide have announced they are going into administration.
http://www.deltaaviation.co.uk/
Apart from the unfortunate and inevitable job losses that will come of this, those who have unredeemed flight vouchers may as well use them to doodle on, as they are now worthless.

That’s my Tiger Moth flight bought for my 25th birthday down the drain then. I was looking forward to the summer…:(:(:(

As it appears the company has gone into administration I would suggest trying to establish who the administrators are. They will be either keeping the Company on as a going concern in the hope of selling it, or more than likely winding it up and disposing of assets in order to pay creditors, which in theory you will be one. However there is a pecking order, senior debt such as bank loans and mortgages come first, then subordinated debt, then trade creditors and finally share holders.

Sorry to paint a bleak picture but it maybe that you won’t get much in return. Good luck.

Delta Aviation no longer trading – How do you get your money back?

I read this thread with interest as I have been a victim or at least my father has!

I’m hoping someone on this forum can advise or help me. I am trying to make contact with Delta Aviation whose parent company where/are Aviation Ventures Ltd. They were based at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire.

For my father’s recent 80th birthday present I paid Delta Aviation direct by cheque for a 1 hour flight in a Tiger Moth at the beginning of February. This voucher was open to use within a 12 month period. 3 days after they cashed my cheque an announcement on their website was made to the effect they were no longer trading. I have sent them an email to make contact with me and as yet there has been no reply.

In addition I have also telephone Sywell Aerodrome who inform me that Delta Aviation are no longer on site.

There appear to be 2 names associated with Delta Aviation a Mr Michael Collins and a Mr Jon Stafford.

I am running out of ideas as to how I make contact (if at all) or even get my money back so indeed my father can eventually have his 80th birthday present.

If any body on this forum is willing to advise me of how I can make contact with AVL it would be appreciated, or as an alternative ensure he can have his birthday flight with an operator who will honour his Delta voucher.

In anticipation, many thanks

Who does the rides at Duxford?
I’ll be over in a month and want to look up their website to see if they’re in operation this time of year.

Classic Wings do, not sure if there are others.

For instance, the Harvard rides are not done by Delta, these opperators are still going, they will still do your ride for you. And who knows, these opperators may well take on the Tiger Rides as well??

Wow, trading a Tiger ride for a trip in a Harvard sounds a good deal!

every cloud and silver lining?

If the vouchers have been purchased via a third party such as play.com or Red letter days etc then they will have not been passed to Delta yet and im sure will be placed with and taken up by other opperators.

Lets not have a load of scare mongering from people who dont know as yet what the situation is fully.

Some of the flights they sell such as aerobatics and Harvards are flown by other operators, what a mess, who knows how many vouchers out there sold by Delta and or third parties.

*cough* Market Saturation *cough* ?!

I’m not sure that would have been a direct cause of their problems. More likley a drop in revenue meaning they couldn’t afford to pay for staff, aircraft, hangarage etc. It’s also highly likely Delta wouldn’t have seen a penny of the vouchers sold through 3rd party sites like play or red letter days until after they had flown the voucher holder, creating a bit of a cash flow problem if Delta themselves were not selling many tickets.

Unless you bought them on a credit card in which case you are covered and can reclaim the money from them and rebook at Cambridge.

Moggy

It was bought for me using hard earned cash and via a debit card.
My partner is currently talking to Play.com where she bought it from and they are looking into some sort of refund. Her phone call was the first they’d heard of it, wonder how many more vouchers have been sold since the announcement, through websites such as Play?
