United’s Denverhub becomes a European gateway, customers now have nonstop service to Londonfrom all five United hubs
Chicago, Nov. 1, 2007 – To further strengthen its international route network and provide customers with new service to Europe, United Airlines will launch nonstop passenger and cargo service between Denver and London Heathrow on March 30, 2008. With this new service, United’s Denver hub will now serve as a gateway to Europe and customers can now fly nonstop to London Heathrow from any of United’s five hubs located across the U.S.
“This year’s Open Skies agreement that United strongly supported allows us to offer service between London and Denver, which will clearly benefit consumers on both sides of the Atlantic,” said John Tague, executive vice president and chief revenue officer. “The new flight will strengthen our international route network, create new revenue opportunities and provide customers with service to Europe from our second largest hub.”To celebrate this new service, United is offering an introductory sale with fares priced at $319 for travel Monday through Wednesday and $339 for travel Thursday through Sunday. These fares on United are for tickets purchased from the U.S., priced each way and are based upon required roundtrip purchase by Nov. 15, 2007. All routes and frequencies are subject to change.United will operate combined passenger and cargo service between Denver and London Heathrow using a Boeing 777 aircraft configured with 12 United First Suite® seats, 49 United Business seats and 197 United Economy® class seats, including 83 Economy Plus® seats that offer up to five more inches of legroom. As part of the company’s multi-million dollar investment in its widebody fleet, by late 2009, this aircraft will be one of 97 that are enhanced with the newest United First Suites, true flat-bed United Business seats, on-demand entertainment and other spruced up amenities that provide customers with the optimal space to work, sleep or relax while traveling overseas.
The route is expected to provide approximately 15 tons of cargo capacity per flight. Commodities carried between Denver and London are expected to include high-tech components and parts, medical-related supplies and equipment, limited perishables, and exhibition material and artwork that is restricted to nonstop flights.

If you ask me it is a bit late i think. Nice to that UA operate from all there 5 hubs to LHR and it will be good for LHR. No more connecting through ORD. Nice to see that it is on LHR destination list but if you ask me it is a little late.
Where is the 777 come from will it operate like this LAX-DEN-LHR-DEN-LAX

A bit late? It is starting on the first day it could possibly operate so I don’t see how it is “a bit late”?
