Deopham Green

An old friend of mine was a B17 Belly Turret gunner in WWII, based at Deopham Green in Norfolk. He’s very much alive and well, living in Wisconsin.

His daughter is looking for information/photos/details etc that might help with some research on behalf of her father, in particular any photos of B17’s at the field. Any knowledge or help would be appreciated.

At the Milton Keynes Aviation Society Aircrew Forum held at Bletchley Park last year, we had a Deopham Green B-17 pilot present. He had lots of fascinating tales to tell, and the whole event is available on video/DVD, so if that is of any interest, please send me a PM.

Rob, as a starter give Google Books a go. Plenty of primary information there by the looks of things!

Motorbook.co.uk have a record site plan of the airfield here

I’m sure plenty of other stuff will turn up on the thread.

Chris
