Woody IL-62 was direct Constanta to Cairo dept Constanta about 0400 and dept Cairo abound 2400 had about 18hrs in Cairo did the usual tourist things museum pyramids and nightclub was a way for the romanians to earn hard currency i think from memory about 70 pounds all in

Hmmm. A day trip to Cairo on the IL62. Was that from Constanta or did you have to take a domestic to Bucharest on an AN24 full of pics and chickens ?
How long were you in Cairo and did you do anything there ?
I’ve only had one IL62 flight and that was also Tarom, from BUC to LHR.
On the way out it was IL18 (instead of the Tu154 scheduled). I was in the cockpit as we crossed the channel. 4 cockpit crew including a “female” (I think) radio operator.

I see your photos are on flickr. So, open your photo and click on “Share”. Select Grab the HTML/BBCcode. There will be a pulldown list with sizes. Pick the size you want then you can copy the stuff in “copy and paste the code below” area. Paste that into your message.
You really only need the line that starts so just delete everything else around it if you want. Not sure if there is also a way of quickly just grabbing the IMG line without the URL stuff too. Should be but is there ?
Try it out and look at the result using the Preview Post button when you are composing the message.

MSR 777 it was a 707. but did fly the IL-62 to Cairo and back for the day from Constanta. nice trrip nice aircraft

Yes Woody too glasgow. when i was out there i took an IL-62 out to Cairo for the day. very nice.

Very unusual shots. Being as the country was still firmly in the grips of that lunatic Ceausescu, you were indeed a brave man! BTW, where were you off too on a Tarom 707? if you don’t mind me asking. I did fly on a Tarom Tu154, some years ago. The crew didn’t smile much, but I guess they had very little to smile about.
