Design your own aircraft.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-11-02 AT 09:54 AM (GMT)]Now we’ve already had design your own c/s. So hows about now we try designing an aircraft?

I have done one below, just to kick it off. It is made up of foru different aircraft. The nose section is from a 777-200. The wing section is from an A330-200, the section behind the wing is from a 767-400 and the tail is from from a tristar (duh!?! 😛 )

And as you can see I have put my own c/s on it too.

So whos game to give it a go?

Right I’ve got it!

Front end of Concorde, middle section/wings of Bell Osprey and rear end of BN Trislander ! Might be good for that “jumping off pier” contest, or whatever it’s called ? (lol)

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-11-02 AT 02:11 AM (GMT)]I like the idea of a B777 with Chinook rota blades, fore and aft of course, but no wings.

Or maybe an A330/340 with VTOL capabilities, that’ll do away with runways.

Er, Jeuneturc was right Andrew those wings on your design should be further back

if it’s fresh air that you want Kabir what about a microlight attatched to single jet engine , that’d blow the cobwebs away wouldn’t it??

Dave 😀

Jeuneturc, would that be aerodynamically feesible?

RE: Design your own aircraft.

I suppose apart from the 747 and Concorde, you’d have a hard time making any “front end” look different using a reasonably modern jetliner. Maybe some of the Soviet “bomber” types would make it look a bit wackier! (lol)

True Ren. Perhaps I should have put the front of a 747 on it instead?

RE: Design your own aircraft.

Suppose it says a lot for how similar airliners look these days. Despite all your bits from different planes, it still looks just like a stretched Tristar!

If you look at the design’s for some of those postwar/coldwar era British military planes that never quite made it somehow, I wonder if you’re modelling technique isn’t too far from the truth Gary (lol)

RE: Design your own aircraft.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-11-02 AT 10:15 AM (GMT)] 😛 Yep I plan to mass produce, I’m building a hanger to construct them in in my back Garden.

Jeuneturc no need to take it that seriously, like I said it was an idea for something to do when ever you feel a little bored. I f you don’t like it don’t take part.

Its just for fun!
