Designing your own aircraft/airline.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-08-02 AT 11:16 AM (GMT)]Didn’t know if any of you on here would be interested in a small challenge to do over the next couple of days or nights?

Using any sort of drawing package or program on you computer, either design your own a/c or draw a template of an a/c and design an airline c/s for it. After you have finished it, give your designed aircraft/airline a name.

The pictures do not have to be extreme with detail, draft copies will do as long as it gives everyone an idea of what it is and what its supposed to look like.

Once you have finished the drawing post in on the forum for everyone to see.

If you are not interested in taking part do not worry about it.

Cheers.

It’s Alive!………………again.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-09-02 AT 05:24 PM (GMT)]This topic is back, but for how long???

Maybe it would be a good idea to have this topic on a new post, so it’s not so slow to load?………..if anyone elese can be bothered to post more pics that is 🙂

I’ve just painted a Concorde in SCILLY SKYBUS colours.
Don’t know if any of you know this airline as it’s local to South West England, and operates flights from Bristol, Exeter, Newquay, Land’s End and Plymouth to St Marys in the Isles of Scilly.
Flights are operated by a Twin Otter, except for the Land’s End – St Marys services which are by Britten-Norman Islander.
On occasions, they will do a flight, for the local islanders to Guernsey. – ever seen one there Saab2000?

They could widen their horizons and do flights from New York to Exeter using a Concorde and then connect to St Marys using the Twin Otter?!?!?! 😛

Go to www.beerbarn.freeserve.co.uk to check out the Concorde!!!

Regards

Luke

Well, he wasnt walking very straight.

I got a photo of him, and it’s not off-topic cos theres an airplane in the picture, any guesses to what it is? I would say it’s a Air 2000 757.

I could do a livery for a tram next.

RE: Designing your own aircraft/airline.

Removing the original colour scheme seems to be the most time consuming part!

I’ve done a Boeing 747SP in flyby. colours, based on the new flybe. colours.

It’s the top one on my site,

www.beerbarn.freeserve.co.uk

also, don’t forget to check out the Air Old F.27, on the bottom!

Luke

RE: Designing your own aircraft/airline.

TEMPLATE!!! OUT RAGE…I don’t use templates!!!

well….actually for this one I did…but don’t shout about it..ok? good.

I have attempted several B747 airframes on paint b4 and its the only a/c type that just doesn’t seem to come out quite right.

I used Luke’s link for the 747 template.

There’s loads of templates (not blank though)at:
http://www.aerosite.net/artistic.htm

This is the bit I’m really chuffed about…The airframe started life as a Virgin a/c in the new silver livery. It took ages to remove the old c/s and 1/8 that time to place my ‘off the top of my head’ design onto the template. I basically re-drew the whole thing! wot a pain…I’d try and find an all white one next time.

Regards

Ben
