Also it represented what one of BA’s claim to fames is – the worlds favourite airline!

I agree. Total disregard and arrogance toward the worlds variety of cultures and ethnic Groups.

From a shantii town in south africa to a sky scraper in new york, from 5 year olds to 90 year old, artists from all walks of life and all ages contributed.
They portrayed beautifull native art from all of the globe.
calling them a mess is closed minded and, to put it simply p!sses me off. I consider such remarks to be racist and typical anti cultural.
I agree… whilst I particularly enjoy the design of the Chatham Dockyard/Lord Nelson flag on the tails. I found the breadth and wealth of design on show amongst the world tails to be a really positive step in helping to make BA’s image one of a global airline.
I remember the press shots of Mrs “the bitch” Thatcher covering up the tail of a model 747 with a handkerchief and was instantly reminded of why the concept of “Britishness” is considered to be so repugnant by so many around the world.
A really narrow minded and tacky stunt I remember thinking at the time.

It was the queen who did’nt like them, was’nt it?

I think the World cs tails were all brilliant. They made a trip to LHR slightly more interesting. When BA already dominate Heathrow so much, it was nice to see a bit of variation between the planes.

I like the Chelsea Rose tail
By: FlyMonarch - 15th April 2004 at 15:54
i like some like:
Colum
Animals and trees
Wings
Rendezvous
Waves and Cranes
Chelsea Rose:
But some where terrible like:
Golden Khokloma
Koguty Lowickie
Youm-al-Suq
my fave has to be Colum though, i think its just a fantastic design.
but i think they have made the right choice in keeping
Union Flag.
