DH.104 Dove Preservation Group

Hi Guys,

There has been a website and facebook page setup to try and help Preserve the DH.104
The tough economic climate has seen the number of Doves and Devons around the world drop dramatically. Here in Australia there were 7 airworthy Dove’s at the turn of the century now there is 2.
By my research it is the same storey in the UK and USA, with aircraft not only no longer airworthy there have been a lot end up at the scrapies.
Please checkout the pages, there are lots of photo’s and we are trying to add new material all the time.

Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has a electronic copy of a Dove & Gipsy Queen 70 series parts listing or catalog, either scanned PDF or spreadsheet with numbers + description.
It Will save me a lot of work!

Mit also has NZ1806 which was aquired from Woodbourne at the same time as NZ1805.

The RNZAF held 1 aircraft to add to their historic flight but that is now unlikely to happen, though they still have the aircraft in Ohakea, not sure of the number.

Another ex-RNZAF instructional Devon is flying out of Omaka with Mit Brereton, I have no pictures but the registration is ZK-ZKZ (was NZ1805) and more info can be had here: http://rnzaf.proboards.com/thread/21084/devon-nz1805-flew-today

Hi All,
It’s with great excitement that we have launched a crowd funding page on kick starter with the aim of raising funds to purchase Dove 8 C/N: 04533 ZK-DHW.
DHW is currently in storage but is complete including engines and avionics, we believe this will be an excellent candidate for an airworthy restoration.
more details can be found at the link below.

Morning all

What became of the 4 or 5 ex RNZAF Devons that were used as ground instructional airframes at Woodbourne AB until a few years ago

Did once stumble into the Devonair hangar at Kemble, I assume they are not around anymore??

Tim S

Here is one of them Tim. This is NZ1813 now on display at the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) in Auckland.

Hi all,
We are restoring Dove 6, G-ANUW at East Midlands aeropark, this has been a long time coming but has recently started to take shape.
Unfortunately, she’ll never fly again, but will make a great exhibit when completed!

Thanks Eric,
I would love to see some photo’s of it but had no luck yet.

I will Paul, I think…. the last move was very stressful. I knew it would not be easy but I underestimated the time to get her out of where she was at the front. Trying to sqeeze it through the trees was the worst part coupled with the fact that we nearly run out of hours in my mates log book. It would not have been ideal to leave the truck parked up on the side of the highway but we made it.. just!

Hi People,
I would like to announce that we have some exciting news for the DH.104 Dove Preservation Group.
We have a new logo and I would like to thank our good friend Johnny Fernandez for donating a considerable amount of time designing It, as I think you will agree it is a striking looking logo.

The new logo represents the beginning of the next chapter for the DPG.

We are now officially registered as a not for profit organisation and have acquired two airframes for static restoration:

C/N: 04097, Manufactured in 1947 the aircraft was registered YI-ABK, TJ-ACA, D-100, G-ATGI & VH-ABM.

C/N: 04486, Manufactured in 1957 the aircraft was registered as PH-ION, G-ASMX, I-ALGO & VH-DHN.

Stay tuned for more restoration updates.
Regards,
Daniel Sherburn

Ebay is showing the Mojave Dove N11XW as sold. Anyone know where it might be going?.

Also when at Mojave in 2009 N4916V was stored dismantled, another potential restoration project, is it still there?
,

G-APDK

I have not been in contact with the new owners of N11XW but I have asked FLight research inc to pass on my details to them, as for N4916V it was sold as part of the package with N11XW. not a bad deal for 12500USD if you ask me! I just could not afford shipping costs to Australia, otherwise they would have been mine!
