I’m not sure it constitutes “smashed to bits”, but it’s a shame after all that work.

Yes, it can be rebuilt. Anything can, especially low-tech aircraft such as that.

Nothing…except possibly the engine…is made of “unobtainium”. (I was a volunteer on the airworthy rebuild of a similar tech aircraft….so I think I can safely give an opinion).

And being a WWI ship, it’s likely all the major bits were new anyway.

Glad everyone is safe, that’s the main thing.

Always glad to hear that no one was seriously hurt.
My heart goes out to all that spent counless hours of labour and skilled craftsmanship, only to have their efforst smashed to bits.
Hopefully they have the wherewithall to dust off and start over.

  The aircraft looks a mess , is it rebuildable?
