I’m hoping someone can help me with some details on the spider used on the Spitfire DH counterweight bracket hub. I’m looking for photographs and some measurements please, or the opportunity to borrow or obtain a crashed one. Can anyone help please?

OK, if you pm me your email I’ll send both the DH manual (some nice pics) and the Hamilton one (more in the way of useful dimensions, though some ‘gleaning’ will be necessary).

Will be back to you shortly 🙂 In the meantime you know that it’s the same spider for any bracket hub in the 1,000 hp area, ie any 5,000 series? And that most of the remaining data on this comes from the identical Hamilton Standard 3E50 (except the spline). This is what I will dig out for you unless someone beats me to it.
