DH Dragonfly over the Canterbury Plains

Stunning photos of some lovely aircraft. Please, have you any more photos NZ de Havillands you can post (esp. Dh89’s and Sir Tim’s lovely Fox Moth 🙂 )

What is the squadron crest on the Dragonfly – seems odd when it is in a civvie scheme.

Is the Dragonfly still based at Mandeville? Where is the orange Fox Moth based?

Here are a few more and some of the Foxmoth that flew as well.

The land is that flat, It’s the canterbury Plains that rise from the coast to the Alps.

Nice to see the old UK registration placard still on the dash. Lovely shots, AMITCH, looks like you were quite low at some points.

Is all the landscape as angular as that? There is not a curve in sight, it is a bit like the Fens in the UK ( apart from the gigantic mountains !)
