DH Heron G-AORG

Hi,

Does anyone know the latest on DH Heron G-AORG? the last I heard she was up for sale.

Also is she the last Heron flying? or are there others out there hiding in dark corners of the globe. Indeed are there any potential flyers.

Many Thanks Steve.

I find that quite strange, because in the report I read locally the owners were quite willing to let it go to Duxford to join the rest of the civil collection held there, gratis.

I think that may have been one of the initial possibilities if no-one expressed interest in keeping the aircraft airworthy.

As FL200 has said, an offer was made but it wasn’t in line with what the owners believed the aircraft to be worth, which is a shame as I would dearly like to see the Heron added to our fleet. I believe a substantially higher offer has been made from another party but I know nothing more than that.

An offer was made from Coventry to keep the Heron airworthy and flying in the U.K, but unfortunately the owners have a slightly unrealistic view of how much it is worth, so it is not Coventry bound. IF anyone hears of it coming to Coventry it will be for maintenance. Jon.

Heard a romour that it is Coventry bound. Anybody able to confirm?

That wouldn’t suprise me, as the chairman of a certain Coventry based airservice provider is Jersey based.

If I get chance over the weekend I’ll get a few photos of her. Mind you she’s not parked in the easiest of places to take photos at though. I do like a challenge.

She was still parked at the airport when I passed this morning, as far as I am aware she is still available
