This is a photo of one of my relatives, taken in 1936. Can anyone please confirm if it is Coventry Airport, do these two hangars still exist, and can anyone take an educated guess as to the serial number of the aircraft? I know that last one is a long shot!
Cheers

That is not the distinctive colour scheme of NFS and they had Cirrus engines. PC crashed in March 36 so I possit this is RC a 60G Moth.

Most certainly is taken at Whitley, and yes its now part of the Jaguar Land Rover Engineering centre. I have the pleasure? of going here everyday.
The only physical remains of its time as AWA is the vehicle safety building which still has the original structure from its time as a hangar on the site ( I believe it was the last large structure built)

Many thanks for the replies.
I`ll read up about Whitley. I believe it is now the Jaguar plant.

I have checked with my friend Alf Jenks who is author of the superb work: “Aviation in Warwickshire Between the Wars”. The photo was not taken at Baginton, it was at Whitley.

I have no idea on the airfield, but the registration looks like it could be one of the following;
G-AAPC – owner in 1936 The Yorkshire Aeroplane Club Ltd.
G-AAPG – owner in 1936 National Flying Services Ltd.
G-AARC – owner in 1936 T.H.Worth
