DH114 Heron G-AORG

Out in the garden this morning on a blue sky sunny sunday as one does on ones day off, to hear and see one of the last D.H.114 Heron G-AORG pass by is a great sight and a very pleasing sound on one ears.

Its nice to hear and see a real aircraft instead of Boeing 737 and Dash8 aircraft every day passing by long live the Heron please.

Next month the aircraft will ber going up to Coventry for a major overhaul and lets hope no serios problems are found while doing the work as it is due for major overhaul.

The one problem is where the aircraft lives is not only has no hangarage but lots of salty air so lets hope the overhaul dosn,t reveal any un toward.

There was talk last year by the group that owns it they might have to sell due to the number of share holders are less than half of when they started so it is a drain on funds unless new funds can be found.

The aircraft was unable to fly much last year as like other vintage aircraft there was a problem finding a company to insure this aircraft.

Just idle speculation…

If it’s going to be worked on at Coventry and may be for sale – it would be a lovely addition to Classic Flight’s fleet.

This is indeed good news, as the last I heard ‘RG had been grounded and was possibly going to be sold?
