“I have some really nice pix from the static though………………..Anyone like to see them??”
Yes please Geoff, would be mucho interestingo!I might even be in the background of some of them as I had a nosey around the static at the end of the display too.
My sister lives in Abingdon and it was only walking distance from her place to the airfield,so thnakfully we didn’t have to contend with the traffic trouble!

My first airshow was Biggin Hill too, but 1982!
I was at Abingdon in 1990 as well, but only just. Went there on a coach tour, got caught in the huge traffic jam, missed the big flypast, and got to the airfield about just under 2 hours before we had to leave again 😡 I think it took us about three hours to just get off the airfield on the way back.
I have some really nice pix from the static though………………..Anyone like to see them??

Excellent and very interesting pics Von P,thanks for those, they bring back memories.Biggin ’92 was only the second airshow I ever attended (first was Abingdon ’90).I rememebr seeing the three Doug Arnold Spits, even then I knew how rare it was to see them all together (am I right in thinking this was actually the ONLY time all three took part in a display??).Was great to see the Fort and the Lib in the air together aswell,I’m very glad I made it to Biggin that year.
Have to say I don’t remember the Shuttleworth Hind taking part, did she go tech??
I’ve got some decent pics my brother took, although sadly I don’t have a scanner at the mo. 🙁
Happy birthday by the way Von P! 🙂
