Whilst walking back from the newsagents reading my copy of The Other Magazine (Flypast had a band round it…), I was stopped in my tracks by news of a SPAD once flown by Dick Grace going on display.
Dick Grace… The man who surely wrote off more planes in his life than even P/O Prune, served the US in two world wars, and died an old(ish) man.
There must be room for an article on him by someone (not me, sadly), mustn’t there?

I have Squadron of Death as well so will have to try for the third.
Not sure which book it is in when he describes taking his fiancee for her first flight. They both sat in the front cockpit with the excuse that there was film equipment in the rear cockpit which was faired over. After giving her a few lessons in flying control, he jumped out of the plane with his parachute.
His friend who had been hiding in the rear cockpit, then guided the plane to a safe landing which the fiancee thought she had accomplished!:D

All I have to offer is a copy of “Crash Pilot” – but the link to the Modern Mechanics article is wonderful. Good to see a Wiki started, though!
