Hi all
It seems that most of the single-seat vampire variants were flown by the Royal Auxillary Air Force, but did they ever have T.11s on squadron strength? Or, were all the T.11s confined to training schools?
Thanks

Thanks mizmaized
Googling this leads you to Doug John’s page on Exeter Memories– an interesting read.
Any pics of, what appears to have been a little-photographed, T.11 Vampire, very welcome.

Thanks everyone for your contributions
Do any pictures exist of the 502 and 613 squadron T.11s?
Any suggestions where I might look gratefully accepted.

Vampire trainers were operated by No.s 502 (Ulster), 602 (City of Glasgow), 603 (City of Edinburgh), 608 (North Riding) and 613 (City of Manchester) R Aux AF Squadrons, between April 1956 and January 1957

yes, 602 had a one (XD550) for a month or so before the order to cease flying was given. It had previously been used by 608 Sqn (along with another t11) – I suspect they were trialling them as replacements for the Meteor T7s.
T11s were also used on operational regular squadrons, including some that didn’t use vampires
