I’ve just started editing the material I shot on the 13th to produce a video for The Classic Flight Club, which I hope will be useful for their soon to be revamped website.
Since the whole point of a photoshot evening like that was to allow photographers to get some great night aircraft shots…it seems to me that the video would be greatly enhanced by the inclusion of a variety of the ‘stills’ taken that evening. So I’m hoping that photographers will be willing to share their images, so I can produce a great movie for Classic Flight.

This is a quick ‘frame grab’ from my Canon 5DMk2’s video. Yes it’s strange to be using a camera designed for still photography for video but the quality from that full frame chip is really wonderful!
If you have any good pics that you’d like included I’ll make sure proper credits are included with each one used.
The video size is 1920×1080 Hi Def, so that’s the image size I’d need for good quality (Jpeg or RAW).
In fact any bigger images sent would possibly allow ‘a digital pan’ across the frame, if that was artistically worthwhile!
I can be reached on the following email:
david at postfade.co.uk
(please replace the ‘at’ with ‘@’, no spaces -I’m trying to reduce the spam I receive!)
Big images may ‘block up’ the email so I’ll be happy to email back my ftp site details for uploading.
A DVD copy of the finished video will be posted to all photographers whose work is included.
Thanks in advance
David Taylor.

Hello David
It was a privilege to be a member of the team which planned this event. This year as well as running up static aircraft we incorporated some taxiing machines which was well received by video buffs. It sounds like you filled your boots – glad you had a good time!
As well as taking photos, I too took some HD video using Canon equipment – it does seem strange having dual purpose kit! Here’s a (low quality) copy off a still frame showing the Venom start – quite a dramatic scene!
DGH – the tow bar wasn’t too much of a problem – I asked for the Annie to be pushed back a little to improve the available angle – so blame me! Here’s a shot of her in action.
David – I would recommend liaising first with the CF office about your video, to ensure no overlap with official material already in preparation for the website.

Hello David, nice to meet you on the night. Have you tried Tim Badham and Simon Westwood? If you haven’t send me a PM and I’ll put you in contact. I’m still kicking myself for leaving the tow bar on the Anson and spoiling peoples photo’s, but there was so many aircraft to move and so little time!!
