Posted on this a while back, thought I’d give it another go-around. Besides, lets see you guys turn THIS into a flame war! }>
Anyone else collect these? They’re great for lazy modellers like myself who are out of the country way too much and still have an unfinished Su-34 on the dining room table!
I’ve just recently found a store here that carries the Postage Stamp planes, got the F-117, Vulcan, Tu-160, MiG-23, and Rafale-M. Nicely detailed, and $10 each. Can’t go wrong with these as display pieces.
The bigger ones, like from Historic Aircraft or Western Models, can run upwards of $100 0r $150 easy. I’ve got a 1/200 scale Tu-144S, a 1/200 Tu-160, both from Historic Aircraft, and an Eclipse 1/200 Su-47 Berkut. These are great display pieces if you can afford them, and damn near every aircraft, military or civil, is either available or planned by somebody. Personally I want to get a few more 1/200 Tupolevs and make a diorama of the Tupolev ramp at Zhukovski. I plan to saturate another Tu-160 in paint thinner to strip it and redo it in natural metal shades to depict the Tupolev workhorse. Then weather a Western Models Tu-144D, pick up their Tu-144LL, and a few other aircraft to fill out the ramp based on some overhead imagery. Hmm. Well, at least I’m not buying $1500 guitars anymore }>
Anyone else have a collection they’d like to share?
