Why does Disney depict all their baddies with English accents?
E.G. Jungle Book=Sher Khan=George Saunders-English accent.
Lion King = Jeremy Irons-English accent
Beauty and the Beast (which is French origially,I think)
Gastogne= English accent. and so on
What has Disney got against the English?

Nothing says evil like an Englishman eating eggs in a cup.
I think it’s the suppressed, measured and calculating mannerism that gives the threat it’s authenticity.

How about the greatest aviation moment of all time, In the movie “Empire of the Sun” when the English boy sees the P-51’s attacking the Zeroes and everything goes into slow-mo and he screams “P-51 Caddilac of the Sky!!” If you never saw it, rent it, even just for that one scene!! but the whole movie is pretty good.
Take Care. [/B][/QUOTE]
I have to agree , bloody good film , Christian Bale and John Malkovitch , good stuff.

Just having a good laugh with the surrender monkey stuff, I’m sure the French are great people, just not to most Americans that I know who visit there, and I know alot of Americans, like airline pilots who travel frequently. It seems as though the French have issues with their Euro bretheren as well. Either way, I’m sure most Frenchmen will be happy to hear I won’t be visiting there.
Moggy,
As per Mel Gibson, evidently He’s a very devout christian, and has rather strong views that border on “extremist” concerning the crusifiction and the Jews part in it. The movie details the last days of Christ and depicts the Jews as having more responsibility for Christ’s demise than the Romans. Jewish groups here in the US are in an uproar as they feel it may cause a backlash against them. I liked that movie where He played a pilot from the 1930’s era who comes back in modern times to find his long lost love, corny plot line but some good aviation scenes.

Hand 87-5, Moggy,Hand-87-5 Thanks for the info, If you read my post I asked, what it was, and you answered it!!!! either way your still a back stabbing surrender monkey with a 9.3% unemployment rate!!!!! Maybe if you stopped having all those strikes more people would be working!!!
TTP ,
I’m glad if I could participate to your education.
You said you asked ? Well I don’t see any question mark in your post. I agree 9.3 is for to much even if it’s hard to compare figures which or not based on the same metrix.
Strikes : I totally agree. However , those strikes which piss everyone off , are made by a very tiny minority. However I would much prefer the German system: permanent nogociation between Unions and Companies : therefore they are almost never on strike.
In order to give you some idea what it is about, the governement is trying to change the rules of retirement program.(Similar to your 401k).
No offence anyway, just stay away from cliches ….

TTP,
How mature and constructive… And witty too.
Don’t know where you gleaned your grasp of international sociology and politics, but it doesn’t sound as though it was through an in-depth course.
I could try and post an answer addressing your diatribe, but somehow I suspect it would be entirely wasted. Shame because some of the points raised did deserve a closer look.

Thanks for that TTP. I sincerely believe that the UK has at last found the role it has been looking for since we lost our wealth, empire and superpower status fighting Nazi expansion on behalf of all the people in the world.
As a ‘best friend’ to the US we can assist both in helping and in moderating the actions necessary for the world’s last remaining superpower. Means we have to disagree with you sometimes, but basically we’ll be on your side, as we have been over the last few years.
But please TTP don’t slag-off the French people. By and large they are good types, friendly, hospitable, amusing and good hosts. They just have a big problem with their politicians and business leaders. These are either born with, or develop, a totally unwarranted arrogance, ludicrous pomposity and an unshakeable belief in their own superiority.
It would be laughable if it didn’t drag the whole nation down in the eyes of outside observers, which actually makes it very sad.
Moggy
I hate to ask, but what role is Mr Gibson going to play in this film? Surely not Jesus Christ himself? We all know that he was an Englishman 😉

Moggy,
I hear Mel Gibson is producing a movie concerning Jesus Christ, and it is suppossed to put the Jews in a very poor light, Already some Jewish groups here are protesting. You know The US can never ask for a better ally than you Brits!! and by the way the reason why so many people despise the US and Britain is that we are prosperous nations and people will always be slightly envious of others with more. Its human nature, I’m sure in the 1700’s and 1800’s people didn’t like the French as they were quite powerful then, at least until they turned into surrender-monkeys!
who are always on strike, and sucking off the government tit!

Unemployement in France is 9.3% now.Tax rate of 70% DOESn’T exist , since the max is 46 %.
Just to let you know that my wife who is doing the same job that me , in the same company but she’s always on the US pay role.
Guess what ? Federal taxes + California taxes are HIGHER than the french ones !!! Amazing ?

Not sure if this type of continuing argument is going to help much… I thought the leaders of France and the USA had at leats started to try and build bridges.
TTP, you did touch on a very important issue though. I’m not sure that the USA’s stock in certain parts of the world is all that high either. But that is at the heart of the matter. Isn’t it important to start asking ourselves why countries like ours generate such resentment, and not only among people who appear to place themselves beyond the realm of debate, analysis and dialogue(and who, incidentally, are not the preserve of any geographical , political or ideological group; seems like verybody’s got some these days)?

All the officers other than Darth Vader on the Death Star in Star Wars had British accents. I have to agree that most every villian will have a British accent. It just goes to show our fear of proper English. 😀

I believe you are thinking of The Patriot.
I always liked Scar in The Lion King. His voice (Jeremy Irons….aka Jester from Top Gun 🙂 ) was perfect for that particular character.
