As we had a debate about horizontal separation recently, i just found this, albeit poor quality due to the range it was taken from,slide from about 1993(i think the Hunter was lost in a crash shortly afterwards), what do we think about the vertical (and logitudinal) separation here.

Yeh, I see no problem there. The Meteor is tucked in close to the tailpipe of the Hunter but must have good vertical separation to avoid jet-wash.

No problem there. The Meteor is suitably below the hunter in order to keep out of the dirty airflow due to wake and jet wash whilst keeping close visual references with the leader. Both aircraft also have suitable escape routes (not to mention that the pilots involved both have extensive formation experience).
