He says that some of the planes he has photographed have been diverted, one there, a Qantas 744 from LHR. Anyone know why? A few militry ones on a divert too. Strange?

Judging by the weather conditions today i.e., dull, misty, foggy and so on, I’d guess they were all weather diversions, in fact the photographer hints at this in one of his pics.
