Do we have a for sale or trade section?

Do we have somewhere on this site that I can advertise stuff for sale? Otherwise, where would be an appropriate place to advertise historic aviation bits? Is Ebay the best place?
Thanks.

non

As moderators, we ask regularly, but we always received a polite ‘Non!’Bruce

Not being disrespectful to keys or this site which is excellent btw, but I personaly think keys should realise that it’s the 21 century and the days
of putting adds in the back of mags for the odd bits & bobs are long gone.
But thank for trying.

I have, as I presume have others, now done a bit of trading, buying and selling because of this Forum. Not overtly but yes ,I suppose technicaly I have used the Forum as a “trading post”.Personaly, I am of the opinion that ,if it were formalised by Key Publishing, it would be an excellent idea to have a trading section.

We could always use our avatars to show things we have for sale:diablo::D

Has anybody actually asked keys about a sales section here?

I think that a for sale section here would be a very welcome addition, simple buyer to buyer with no risk exposure for the site owners.

Agreed.

Is posting a link to an eBay item one has on sale acceptable?

I suspect that it has now been accepted – the museum website has never had so many links from the Cockpitfest site 🙂 – keep up the good work; current event info is in here!

No, it was all sorted out and cleared two days ago. Google havent caught up with it yet is all.

Bruce

Got to the bottom of it now I think. There wasn’t actually any malicious code on the cockpitfest website as such, but other sites were using some legitimate code on the site (used to cleanly activate links to other websites) to link to sites that were dodgy.

I’ve removed the code altogether which means the site doesn’t work quite as I’d like it now, but it has removed the redirection route these other sites were using.

I’ve resubmitted the site to Google for testing so will see what they come back with in due course.

Surely that should read, seller to buyer, would make more sense……

Planemike

Something like that ; )
I would never use a mag to list and sell an item just for the record

This has been asked and discussed many times before, and the answer is no. But alot of members first seem to go about advertising something on here with an opening post like;

“i’ve got a genuine Spitfire wheel chock that Douglas Bader threw at one of his ground crew. It still has a dent in the wood from where it bounced off the chaps frontal cranium. Where’s the best place to sell it”?

At which point offers of cash and untold riches flood in from excited members in the form of PM’s.. and problem solved. Alternatively you could try ebay.! :D:p

Rob

OR YOU GET,
I found these bits in a shed and do not know what they are.

THEN THIS HAPPENS

oh hi, what a lovely fandango flange plate just what i need for my project.

AND THE THIS COMES NEXT

Carlos Fandango Flange plate on Ebay ! nothing to do with me but looks cheap at 2 millyon i can post worldwide init 😀

Hi Bruce of the 147 pages you have 9 are listed as very dangerous and you have at least two trojans and two other very nasty malware programmes that will try and upload if you go onto the site.A lots of other little annoying malware files. Some really nasty toerag has done a proper number on your web site .These nasty people should be made to eat their computer and key board and their modem shoul dbe placed where the sun dont shine !!!

I think you need to get a full antivirus and malware sweep of your site to clear it.This info was up to date and current as at a 11 am check 13/06/2012.

A very usefull resource I hope you can get it sorted ok,.

Could not aggree more it is high time we had this even if a small fee had to be paid , time for KP to realise for 99% of us here the days of having a add in any mag/newpaper etc are over , it is all internet based . Not everyone can get to a ‘ jumble ‘ to buy/sell .

With a buy/sell page here i bet that on site traffic would go up which prehaps KP could sell adverts on like on the forum pages , it would help big and small projects to be completed and deprive a nameless auction site more than there fair share of fees , a win/win outcome.

cheers dave

I think most of the cash to fund this site comes from companys selling high quality items and not Joe blogs selling the odd book or dial.:diablo:

…. or a Derwent engine …. at the end of the day revenue is revenue; every little helps! 😉
