HMRC and the Home Office have come up with a draft Commissioners Direction the content of which changes procedures for the General Aviation Report when flying abroad.
I do not at the moment have all the details. Later to-day, given time, I’ll place a more detailed account. I’m told that the proposed changes are serious and that everyone affected is invited to make a response by May 15th.

Ok. I’ll leave it there.

Already done.
Basically I held that we are governed by consent and that regulations should be seen as fair and sensible.
That we, even in our two-seater bimblers with virtually no cargo capacity and having filed a detailed flight plan, have to jump through ever more complicated hoops, whilst yotties carrying less than 12 people can come and go at random with no trace whatsoever tells of regulations being imposed on an easy target in order to be seen to be acting, rather than sensible legislation.
The requirement to fill in full passenger passport details on a flight plan would achieve all they are trying to, bar the extended notice period which nobody else (Yotties or foot passengers on ferries) has to give.
