Do you have what we are looking for?

Hi all

The Air Atlantique Classic Flight is looking for someone to join its small team as Commercial and Office Assistant. The Primary functions of this position will be assisting the commercial manager in our continuing effort to find new and exciting ventures to help ensure the future of this unique collection of vintage aircraft, in addition to carrying out general office administration and accounting duties. A passion for classic aircraft is essential and we would ideally like someone who has previous experience in a commercial or accounting environment, although training can be provided if nessecary.

Now I should point out that this is not just a Monday-Friday, nine to five job. You will be expected to give up your free time at the weekends to assist with any flights and events taking place as well as mucking in with more mundane tasks such as cleaning aircraft or manning the sales tent. The ability to make a good cuppa also wouldn’t go amiss 😉

So, if you think this sounds like the job for you, send your CV to classic@airatlantique.co.uk or via post to:

(Hope the moderators don’t mind me posting this here. It seems like a better place than any!) No problem – Moggy

job seeking

I can give you a few guidelines Mr Langham, they DO NOT specifically apply to the company who are advertising for applicants here.
Nowadays the keyword in the job market is flexibility, the armed forces have done this for many years, you are trained in a main job then given extra duties plus a need to be available outside your normal working hours. Its really true that companies want to promote a CAn Do attitude when they are trying to win contracts in the fast moving free market.
Be prepared for long hours , with enthusiasm you may stay with a company because you have the reward of being involved in something you enjoy , in this case aviation. Initially the financial reward may not be high, however all the time you will gain experience and get known by the decision makers at the company for your loyalty and good humour in trying conditions. When training courses are on offer you can progress further.
Keep in mind that very few can expect a job for life any more, the ability to vary the workforce according to how a business is trading means that long term cast iron contracts are uncommon.
Good luck in your chosen career Mr Langham.

Just a quick question, when’s the latest you can apply for the job and what qualifications or experience do you need? I’d love to get involved with aviation as a job but i’m in sixth form at the moment and don’t have transport yet although I could probably borrow the money for a car or something
