You are more than welcome to visit this museum.

It was a gift to the RAF Museum from the Spanish government.
Inevitable I suppose, and truly it couldn’t be in a more appropriate location, but I’m sad to see it go (or rather stay) because I’ve never seen it.
It is ironic too; if it had been in Luftwaffe colours and been in the Battle-of-Britain hall at Hendon then I think there would be general outrage that such an important airframe had been given away!

Wonderful news i can remember seen that at RAFM Hendon, when will they announce what the dutch are giving in return ? (quote)
I think the Do24 was gifted in exchange for the Neptune you already have at Cosford 😉
From what I read on the NMM page, the ownership of the Do24 was transferred to the NMM last April 1st.

Interesting. I do recall being told when it arrived at Hendon that it was then on loan from Spain.

In this tread on a utch forum there is a nice topic about designing and constructing a nive flying model of a Do 24. Somewere in the topic there are also photos of the inside of the Do 24 in Soesterberg. The link is: http://www.nederlandseluchtvaart.nl/forums/showthread.php?27823-Dornier-Do24K-in-schaal-1-10

Was there a contemporaneous announcement from the RAF Museum?

AKAIK she has been indoors since her retirement. First at Hendon and later at Soesterberg.. She seems to be in very good condition. But I think the museum would never let her go….

Does someone knows more about the condition of this Do 24? Could it be a pottentional flyer?

That’s good news!
This airframe is nicely displayed and well looked after. Good to know that it is staying.
