This caught my eye today on the net when someone posted a eariler note on the new Roger Bushell documentary and how difficult it was for the film maker to find a network to show the program. Geeze are you kidding me? From some of the reactions here it appers to have been an excellent production.
A contact in Canada who’s father flew Hurricanes and was in Stalag Luft III with Roger Bushell would love to see this ..hopefully some how it may makes its way over here on this side of the pond. If someone has a contact info as to who to write to in order to obtain a copy… please share it here .
Much thanks FlyPast forum members :

Oh, and if the mods will allow it, here’s the website for my F1 doco, please feel free to take a look ; www.lotus72dvd.com
I can’t see a problem with that since it is not a product that would conceivably be advertised in any of the Key aviation titles; rather it is your day job.

Lotus thanks for your story here !
Lotus72 :
That was me talking about how sometimes its difficult to produce a good WW II documentary and find a main stream media outlet to show it ! I was taking about the US market per say. Seems to me in my experience in these matters… UK audiences seems more apt to respond to a fine WW II production . Here in the US.. I done several productions and many news stories on WW II topics . During the 50th anniversary it was alot eaiser to push a good topic like D-Day , Market-Garden ..Battle of The Bulge etc .
I am delighted this documentary was has been completed and show on the life of one amazing man for sure …Roger Bushell. Certianly a most complex man and very worthy of a documentary for sure. Long time student of the escape at Stalag Luft III… so I hope to get a chance to see this documentary for sure ! Good luck on your efforts and hope you find a network that can show it . Here in the USA there is a channel called “THE SPEED Channel”… great automotive productions here..maybe you could call on them….. good luck on your efforts here !

Saying……I’m vaguely suprrised that someone like the Discovery Channel hasn’t picked up on it, even if it a one-off. They could always lob it into a themed night or weekend as a new programme.

‘This caught my eye today on the net when someone posted a eariler note on the new Roger Bushell documentary and how difficult it was for the film maker to find a network to show the program.’
Are you kidding me? I have had a couple of automotive related programmes on-air and recently completed a half hour programme on the Lotus 72 Formula 1 car. We interviewed people Like Emerson Fittipaldi (who you MAY have heard of, a double F1 World Champion and Indycar Champion too) plus a host of other Team Lotus guys. Can I get it on air?? Can I hell!
I have tried all the usual suspects ; Sky F1, ESPN, Motors TV and Eurosport. Only Eurosport deemed to reply to me, ALL the others, after an initial e-mail conversation, COULD NOT BE BOTHERED to reply to me once they had seen a 4-minute clip. I got the guy from ESPN to reply to me eventually, whereupon he literally told me that ESPN ‘do not have any money’. I wanted £3,000 for the programme. Please. Whatever, I’m going to release the thing in DVD anyway.
So….what I’m saying here is that I am not surprised in the least that this programme has not found a home. Commissioning Editors are only interested in ‘reality’ shows and antiques programmes!

Bluenoser. On the other thread you said the Iplayer could not be seen outside the UK. According to their website, it is coming. Your friend in Canada at least may be lucky!
