Here’s an interesting dilemma. Most of the historic aircraft flying today are owned by the rich – not an issue – as we all enjoy such aircraft in their natural habitat.
But would it matter where the money came from?
Imagine if Playboy owner Hugh Hefner or Hustler owner Larry Flint (or indeed in Sunday Sport owner David Sullivan) were to spend their millions (made from pornography) on restoring and maintaining historical aircraft, in which countless thousands of grave young men flew and some died in, would that be degrading to them as well as (some may argue) to the women who feature in such magazines/videos, etc?

who suffers from Playboy?
That’s why I wear glasses, Dave! :diablo:

My local football club (Birmingham City) is owned by David Sullivan (Sunday Sport, Playbirds) and the Gold family (Ann Summers stores). Without them the club would have been consigned to history. So from that experience I don’t mind who provides my leisure facilities. Probably draw the line at war criminals and drug-barons (if hard-drugs). And don’t lots of historic aircraft have naked women painted on them anyway?

Well, most of the JU88’s. He111’s, Bf109’s and FW190’s in the world were once owned by Hitler, but that wouldn’t worry me, I’d still love to see them flying!
I don’t think it matters a jot where the money came from so long as it was legal and no-one suffered or died in the process. Lets ace it, who suffers from Playboy? If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Simple.
I’m sure many of those grave (?) young men would have enjoyed the freedom that Heffner’s empire sprang from.

Not at all. How you make your money shouldn’t relate to what you spend it on.
Besides, just think of the noseart on ‘Heffners Honeys’ and ‘Sullies Sluts’. Flynt could buy a Blenheim – the sight of a pair of throbbing Bristols always turns heads…..
