[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-09-02 AT 05:52 AM (GMT)]Gentlemen, especially crobato, great job on the J10 discussions. Do you fellas think that the J10 has stealth features? Or that stealth features can feasibly be incorporated into the design in future without too much trouble?
From the photos the J10 looks pretty conventional and unstealthy. However I have read that the J10 uses composites extensively and that the engine duct was built in an S shape to help reduce RCS. There has also been talk of RAM and RAP development. If the J10 is to have a long run, as suggested by crobato, somewhere down the line someone ought to be thinking about RCS reduction, if such a feature has not been included already.
Of course I’m not talking about full stealth design. The J10 is still very much a 4th generation fighter. But some measure of RCS reduction can still confer a decisive advantage.
