Does the US need Sadam?

LAST EDITED ON 28-Jan-01 AT 06:06 PM (GMT)[p]I read a theory a couple of months ago about the possibility that there could be an agreement between saddam and the US gov. What would happen when saddam dies? Probably anti-western voices would claim that we killed him. Maybe a new regim which is pro-Iran could be settled, because now Iran and Iraq are enemies. That would be a major problem for US, because those two countries could make a big threat to the western world. Any comments? Maybe this statement isn’t realistic, because i forgot the author and i doubt his rationality. But maybe there is some kind of possibility in it.
