Dogs…what do you have?

A recent visit reinforced earlier observations that Labradors were the most popular dog breed in the U.K.
So, what kind of canine companion do you own?
And since this is an aviation forum…can you name planes named after dogs?

I have Bassets…not a Beagle Basset CC.1, but real bassets.

Correction – I get to take for walks, especially if it’s raining!

The only dog I’ve got is Mrs C. On second thoughts she can’t be a dog as dogs actually listen to you

This is Duke, also known as Ratbag. A Border Terrier cross he has an excellent temperament and a reasonable taste in magazines.

Dog eat dog

My first ever dog was a Dalmatian – best dogs you can get. He was a superb guard and nearly killed two Alsatians at once in a fight.

A late score:
Dalmations: 101
Alsatians: 44
🙂

My first ever dog was a Dalmatian – best dogs you can get. He was a superb guard and nearly killed two Alsatians at once in a fight. Then we had a Belgian Tervueren, who had a condition called “rage syndrome” so we couldn’t keep it. Now we have a three quarter Labrador/one quarter curly coat retriever called Dexter, who is mentally deranged and a total bloody wimp. It runs away from cats if they look at it.

On the topic of animals named after aircraft, the vets where I helped out when I was at school once had a cat in for neutering and it was called Jumbo Jet.

I don’t know about naming planes after dogs, but I named my 55 Willys M 38A1 after my best girl Molly, a Pembroke welsh corgi now dearly departed.

I currently have two pembrokes. Abbey (the one having a snooze) and Charley (who is desperately trying to climb inside the camera).

We do not own a dog, how ever for the past 16 years a collie cross german shepherd called Misty has adopted us as her feeders and walkers. She is now vey grey, very slow and coming to the end of her days.

We have also been adopted by a cat called Willow
