For sometime it seemed that the global airline market was moving towards several “majors” on each continent dominating the scene, for example, BA, LH, AF, etc., in Europe. Keeping in mind two major factors in the form of events of 9/11, and the the impact of the low frills market, do you think that this will continue to be the trend?
Perhaps international air travel will be resolved to a handful of majors (via alliances), but maybe domestic travel will see an increase of carriers?
I would be interested to hear any thoughts on this subject, especially since people write in from different parts of the world.

Yep , it seems that the trend is a mix of big networks such as OneWorld, SkyTeam etc and low cost airlines. The first take care of the high revenues market , the second of routes which don’t appeal the big majors… wait and see…
