I read today in a 1940 newspaper that Don Bradman joined the RAAF that year (about June 1940). I did a websearch and see he flew Mosquitoes over Europe. Interesting, I didn’t know he’d been in the Air Force.

Don Bradman’s Service rcord as follows
Enlisted in the Australian Army 6th Jan 1941, discharged 30th April 1941 on Medical Grounds. Held the rank of Lieutenant (Number S1388) in the Army Physical and Recreational Training Unit.
Don Bradman however did join the RAAF in 1946 for a short time.

Just as well for the jerries he wasn’t as good a shot as he was a batsman!!!
